Dwayne Anthony Miller

Dwayne Anthony Miller, affectionately known as China, ascended into heaven on June 5, 2019 at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.  He was born on December 25, 1964 in Philadelphia, PA to Jeanie Davis and Barry Hilton.

Dwayne was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Elway and Juann Jenkins; his maternal grandparents, John and Pauline Miller; 3 uncles, Robert, James, and John Jr.; 5 great-uncles, Roy, William, James, Oscar, and Purcell; and a cousin, Dwell Miller.  Dwayne is survived by his wife Antoinette Miller, his mother Jeanie and father Barry, his daughter De’ Anna Miller; 3 sons, Dwayne Miller II, Devoune and Dwayne Handy; 5 sisters, Tameka, Raina, Yvette, Yvonne, and Nadine; 7 brothers, Rodney (Dawn), Keith, Roman, Anthony, Dante, Michael, and Kevin;  4 brother-in-laws Antonio, James, Zay, and Donnell; 4 God-daughters, Ky-Anna, LaToya, Anita, and Daia; a God-son, Sacon; a host of adopted brothers and sisters that he grew up with, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and friends.

Dwayne graduated from Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA and lived there a while.  He also met the love of his life there and they decided to relocate to Winston-Salem, NC in 1996 and made this their home.  Here Dwayne became an entrepreneur, artist and an awesome wood craftsman.  He loved watching boxing and Lifetime on TV and poetry.  He loved life and people and was always in good spirits.  He brought joy and a smile to everyone he came in contact with.  His memory will live on in everyone’s hearts.  We will truly miss him.

We would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and 4th floor ICU for all the attention and care they gave to Dwayne during his stay there.
