Alice Tyrrell Van Buren

Mrs. Alice Tyrrell Van Buren, 80, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Alice was born August 19, 1936 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Leland Fay, and Viola Stairs Tyrrell. She loved her family, especially her four wonderful daughters. Alice had a love for music and loved playing her piano. She was a faithful church member and she loved going to fellowship dinners. She sang in the choir when she was young. Alice also loved to dance and taught ballroom dancing for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert James Van Buren; and a granddaughter Carol Ann Stamper. She is survived by her four daughters, Terry Moorefield (Jerry), Toni Everhart (Jim), Tracy Robinson (Mark), and Tamy Fitzpatrick (Mike); nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Ardmore Christian Church with Pastor David Woolard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
