Brenda Wells Larson (65) of Kernersville, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on April 14th, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Brenda approached her diagnosis the way she approached most things in life - with tenacity and determination. She found joy in this life until her final days, always finding reasons to smile when she was with her loved ones.
She was adored by her parents Jesse Marie Wells and William Wesley Wells of Olathe, Kansas, and made them very proud with her many accomplishments. She loved her parents very deeply, caring for them and meeting their needs until their final days on this earth. We rejoice that she is reunited with her parents now. What a glorious reunion that must have been!
It is rare to find a person as strong and determined as Brenda was. Nothing could prevent her from accomplishing her goals and accomplishing them well. She was absolutely brilliant. Among her many accomplishments were a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), a Master’s Degree from the University of Kansas, and many respectable titles throughout her career in special education. Brenda loved her students and enjoyed the many years that she spent teaching.
Of the many titles that Brenda held, her favorite was certainly “Grandma.” She adored her grandsons, spoiling them at every opportunity. In fact, Brenda and her husband Keith moved from Olathe, Kansas to Kernersville, NC in 2016 to be closer to some of their grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them play sports, playing outside with them, and feeding them sweet treats when their mother wasn’t looking. Brenda also loved the grandchildren that she was not able to see in person due to distance. She would dote over their pictures and speak of them often. She was very proud to have six grandsons.
Brenda had many interests. She loved traveling, the beach, watching Alabama football, and music. She was incredibly talented and accomplished. She led a very full life. Brenda knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She accepted Him and shared her faith with anyone who asked. We rejoice in this and find comfort in knowing that she is spending eternity in glory in the presence of God. Praise the Lord!
Brenda was preceded in death by her loving parents. Brenda is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Keith Larson of Kernersville, NC; her son, Kurtis Larson and wife Sinead of Toronto, Canada; her daughter, Karly Larimore and husband Daniel of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandsons of Winston-Salem, NC; two grandsons of Toronto, Canada; her brother, Bill Wells of Olathe, Kansas; two nephews and a niece that she adored, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family has decided to hold a private ceremony to honor Brenda at a later date. They thank you for your prayers during this difficult time.
