Charles Ray Presley

March 16, 1946 — August 20, 2018

Charles Ray Presley, 72, of Wallburg, North Carolina, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, August 20, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born March 16, 1946 in Lexington, North Carolina to Ray and Edna Sink Presley. He graduated from North Davidson High School in 1964 and attended High Point College. On June 12, 1966, he married Harriett (Kitty) Yokeley of Wallburg, North Carolina. Charles was an IT manager at McLean Trucking Company, Piedmont Airlines, US Airways, and Sabre. He was a volunteer firefighter for Wallburg Fire Department, a member of Gideons International Davidson North Camp, and a member of Faith Church of Midway. He enjoyed playing tennis for many years and supporting his children and grandchildren in all of their many activities. He was preceded in death by his parents. Charles is survived by his wife of 52 years, Harriett (Kitty) Yokeley Presley; three daughters, Paula Hill and husband Verne Hill of Midway, Carla Brinkley and husband Kevin Brinkley of Midway, and Monica Overbaugh of Charlotte; along with 6 grandchildren, Bailey and Mariah Hill, Brooklyn and Ashlyn Brinkley, Tyler and Abby Overbaugh; and two siblings, Janice (Danny) Edwards and Kimmey Presley. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Faith Church, 1078 Gumtree Road, Winston Salem, North Carolina 27107. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the church's family life center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gideons International, Davidson North Camp, P.O. Box 1598 Welcome, NC 27374, or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
