Cynthia Lynn (Senn) Roberts

Cynthia Lynn Senn Roberts, 73, of Winston-Salem lost her battle to cancer Saturday, August 22, 2020 surrounded by her daughters Sheila, Sarah, and Shelly. She was born June 15, 1947 in Akron, Ohio to Charles Bascom and Rebecca Mayes Senn. Cindy graduated from South Dade High School in Homestead, FL.  She attended Western Carolina University and graduated with the distinction of Magna Cum Laude with Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Microbiology. For much of her career she worked as an independent life and health insurance agent working alongside her brother Jeff in South Florida.  She retired in 2017 and moved to Winston Salem, NC to be closer to her girls. She loved being a mom, but she would tell you being a Granny is even better.  Her girls were the greatest love of her life until her grandchildren where born.  One by one she gave herself to being the best Granny she could and making each child feel special as only a Granny can. Cindy was baptized in 1975 at the Sylva Church of Christ and found many lifelong friends at every congregation she attended.  She became passionate about mission work after participating in a mission trip to Honduras.  She continued working in this area and was able to get over 70 sewing machines donated, repaired, and sent to Honduras which helped women provide a source of income for their families. She became involved with missionaries, Dimas Lopez and his family in Nicaragua for the past 20 years where she has coordinated funding for this special mission work of establishing a church there and helping this special group of Christians become a strong and vibrant congregation. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Sheila Morrison and husband Michael, daughter Sarah Maxwell and husband Michael and daughter Shelly Behm and husband Robert;  her brother Jeff Senn and his wife Brenda; she is the grandmother of 7 grandchildren Garrett, Rebecca, Abigale, Joseph, Madilyn, Seth, and baby Robert expected in November of this year.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the South Fork Church of Christ located at 205 Keating Drive, Winston Salem, NC  27104 with visitation from 3:00PM-4:00PM with the Memorial Service starting at 4:00PM.
