Gilbert Lee Collison, Jr, 46, of Pfafftown took his flight home to eternal freedom on October 8, 2021 in Winston-Salem. He was born December 28, 1974 in Milford Delaware to Gilbert Lee Collison, Sr and Rita Kay McKee. Lee moved to Winston-Salem about the age of three with his mother and brother. Family and friends called him Lee. He served in many occupations during his 46 years of life including remodeling, landscaping, and floor covering. Lee loved being outdoors. He loved hiking, river activities, volleyball, softball, football, basketball, weight lifting, among many other things. He loved taking his dog Rebel for walks and hikes. One of his favorite places to go was Shacktown Falls. Lee loved listening to music and it was a daily must for Lee. He liked many different kinds of music. Lee loved to make others smile and laugh. A loyal friend and family man until his dying day. He will be deeply missed forever. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Peggy J. Moore of Winston-Salem; grandfather Robert A. Moore of New York; great aunt “May” Matlock and Archie Matlock of North Carolina; along with multiply family and friends. Lee is survived by his daughter Faith Angel Horton (Hannah) and granddaughter Harper Wren Horton of Yadkinville, NC; father Gilbert Lee Collison, Sr, of Delaware; mother Rita kay McKee (Jonathan) of Winston-Salem; brothers Robert Michael Collison of Pfafftown, and Teddy Dobson of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters Sherry Collison of Delaware, Marie Slaughter of Tennessee; several aunts and uncles, as well as many nieces and nephews; his trusty side kick Rebel; and many loyal and trustworthy friends. Lee had relationships, however his heart belonged to Lori D. Smith. There will be a memorial service for his home going on Saturday November 13, 2021 from 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm at Bethabara Moravian Church.
