Mrs. Juanita Blackwell Klutz, 87, of Kernersville drew her last breath early Sunday morning February 3, 2019 at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehab. She was born February 27, 1931 in Westminster SC to Henry Clyde and Laura Inez Martin Blackwell. She was a homemaker and mother the majority of her life, adopting and raising a daughter and then later in life adopting and raising her granddaughter. She was a beloved friend and neighbor to all those who knew her. She rarely met a stranger and despite her lack of formal education she was smart and creative. She was an animal lover, talented gardener and well-respected cook. She developed a talent for coloring in her later years and proudly shared her artwork when given the chance. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 43 years James Edward Klutz in 1990. She is survived by her two daughters Sandra Jean Padilla and Maria Juanita Patrick; a sister Margaret Solomon; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and her beloved dog Precious. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday February 10, 2019 in honor to celebrate her life at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church in Kernersville. A visitation with family will be at 2:00 pm 1 hour prior to the service.
