Laura “Michelle” Phillips Goins

Laura "Michelle" Phillips Goins, 40, of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. She was born to William Douglas and Laura Dale Wall Phillips on December 21, 1978. Michelle will forever be remembered by her beloved husband, Richard "Rick" Goins, Jr., dog Misha and cat Blackjack. Michelle spent her time being creative and making things from scratch. She enjoyed simple pleasures in life including her love for cats, makeup and selfies. She always saw the good in everyone, was kind and loved being in the company of others. She was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her husband Rick of Mount Airy, her father, William Douglas Phillips, a brother, Billy Everette East (Ruby), two sisters Jenna Phillips and Courtney Phillips, nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Ethan, Chloe and Samantha East. She will be remembered by her father-in-law, Richard Goins, Sr., mother-in-law, Sheryle Tomlinson, sister-in-law, Crystal (Chris) Chaney, brother-in-law, Jack (Gloria) Knight and niece Lakin Knight. Her husband would like to express his heartfelt thanks and forever gratitude to those who have made financial contributions and provided support during this difficult time. A visitation to celebrate Michelle's life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Flat Rock Ruritan Club, located at 1070 Linville Road, Mount Airy, North Carolina.
