Mary Glendine Picconi, 99, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully in a state of grace in her home on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Born March, 2 1919 in Newcastle, New Brunswick Canada to Michael and Mary Munn McCafferty. She moved to Pittsburgh, PA and became a US Citizen. She has resided in Winston-Salem since 1998. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernie Picconi, daughter MaryAnn Thompson; sisters Patricia Gunter, Theresa Moore, Inez Burns and brother Reginald McCafferty all of whom were from Canada. She is survived by son Michael Picconi and wife Irene; grandchildren Amanda Weiss (Dan) of Pittsburgh, PA, Laura Clark (Glenn) of Austin, TX, Janice Picconi of New York City, and Thomas Picconi of Hollywood, CA; Great-grandchildren Kristen, Kayla, Rachel and Nathan Weiss, Breanna and Isabel Clark; niece Cathy Lyons and husband Rod of New Brunswick, Canada. A memorial mass service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday November 24, 2018 at St. Benedict the Moore Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, followed by a private family inurnment service at Forsyth Memorial Park. Flowers may be sent to the mausoleum chapel at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3771 Yadkinville Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
