Helen Maxine Bracken Naylor, 85, of Advance surrounded by her family entered Heaven to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, November 30, 2020. Maxine loved being with her husband and family. She had great joy in her granddaughters Mia and Ashley and was an incredible "Nana" to both of them. Her love and devotion to Irvin was beautiful and their marriage has been and will remain a great example of how we should love our spouse. She deeply loved her son Brent and they had a wonderful mother and son relationship throughout her entire life. She also loved her daughter-in-law, Susan, stating often how much she cared about and loved her. Maxine loved to cook and bake and she did both very well, her skills in the kitchen will be greatly missed. Maxine also enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School at Forsyth Park Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, where she and Irvin have been members for over fifty years. Maxine was a graduate of Mineral Springs High School in Winston-Salem and worked as a telephone switchboard operator in the mid 1950's, then worked at Hanes Hosiery and RJR Tobacco. She left work and became a full-time homemaker when she and Irvin adopted their son, Brent in 1968. Maxine was preceded in death by her father Noah Bracken; her mother Paige Scott Bracken; two sisters Delphine and Berniece; and her brother Rev. Jack Bracken. Maxine is survived by a loving and devoted husband of sixty four years Irvin; son Brent wife Susan; granddaughters Mia and Ashley; two sisters Audrey, and Verona; two brothers Bill, and Bud; several nieces and nephews and with those having a deep and special bond with Linda , Keith and Lisa; and a dear cousin Walt Ijames wife Barbara. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to :Davie County EMS , the ER staff of Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital and the 4th Floor ICU Reynolds Tower staff that took wonderful care of Maxine. A special thank you to ICU RN, Brooke, whose compassion and tenderness was beyond measure and will never be forgotten. Due to Covid 19 the Naylor family will be having a private gathering. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you hug your loved ones a little tighter, tell others how much you love them more often and enjoy life everyday.
