Melanie Myers Shive

Melanie Myers Shive, 68, of East Bend, passed away peacefully at home with family on Friday, October 4, 2019 after fighting a quick battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on June 25, 1951 in Winston Salem, NC to John R. Myers and Gay Wilson Myers. She loved God, music, horses, all animals, and history. She attended Appalachian State University where she graduated with an Associate's Degree and moved back to Winston Salem quickly to take care of her mother. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Kerry Shive Sr. and daughter Elizabeth Wood (son-in-law Cory Wood), her sister Ann Petree (brother-in-law John Petree), stepdaughter Kristen Ardnold (husband David Arnold), stepson Kerry Shive Jr. (wife Christi Shive), grandchildren Devin, Shawn, Dawson, and Madylin. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 134 S Peace Haven Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104 at the Seacrest Building, on Saturday October 12, 2019. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 am with the memorial service following at 11am.
