Micah David Utt, Sr. 64, of Lexington passed away at his home January 30, 2022. Micah “Mike” was born on July 14, 1957 in Forsyth County to David and Sylvia Utt. Mike graduated from North Davidson High School and retired from R. J. Reynolds after 38 years. Mike had a love of music, movies, and building musical instruments, especially his blue-ribbon Ukulele that he placed in the Davidson County Agricultural Fair. He played in the praise band at Good Hope United Methodist Church for 15 plus years and loved putting together skits for the children’s message on Sunday mornings. Mike had a heart of gold and loved helping people. He would visit the local shelter just to have a movie night or blast some music out of his car just to see someone smile. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Utt. Left to share his memories are, son, Micah Utt Jr. (Katie), daughter, April Bentley (J.J.) his father, David Utt, sister, Sonia Prichard (Jim), 3 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life at Good Hope United Methodist Church, 10253 Hampton Rd, Lexington, NC 27295 on Saturday, February 5th at 2 o’clock with Rev. Jim Prichard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Good Hope United Methodist Church.
