Michael McQueen Hildreth, 62, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018. He was born on January 10, 1956, to John Thomas and Winnie McQueen Hildreth. Mike graduated from Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. After receiving a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, Mike retired six years ago from the U.S. Postal Service after 36 years of service. Mike was greatly loved by his family and friends. Everyone who knew him was touched by his warm and gentle spirit. He was an avid dog and bird lover. His dogs and birds were very important to him. Mike loved his Calvary Hills Baptist Church family and participating in his brother-in-law's gospel singing group. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; John and Winnie Hildreth, his maternal grandparents; Mack and Clarissa McQueen of McColl, SC and his paternal grandparents; Tom and Lilly Hildreth of Wadesboro, NC. Mike is survived by his sister; Cindy Fagg (BJ) of Kernersville NC; his brother; Dan Hildreth (Claudia) of Mountainbrook, Alabama; his aunt; Linda Richards of Albemarle, NC; his niece and god-daughter, Cameron Hildreth Weaver of New York, New York; his niece; Callie Hildreth of Charleston, SC. and his first cousin; Brett Richards (Sherrie and family) of Albemarle, NC. Mike cared immensely for his special caregivers; Melanie (& family), Charlie, Abbie, Arlene, and Nathan. He had special friends who will always cherish their memories of Mike: Mae and Jimmy Davis, the Jenkins' family, the Edwards' family, Judy, Joel Brown, and Joey Stewart. A memorial service for Mike will be held at a later date at Calvary Hills Baptist Church in Walnut Cove, NC.
