Paula VanHoy Collins, 75, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday December 1, 2021. She was born in Mecklenburg County, the youngest of four girls to Robert Paul, and Ruth Golden Hartsell VanHoy. She was known to many as Aunt Paula or MawMaw. She was well known for her sense of humor and her love of talking to people. She never met a stranger. She so very much enjoyed spending time with her special friends Pat, Deb, and Mary. She enjoyed playing scratch off lottery tickets and played them up until the day she died. She will be missed, but the good times and memories will overshadow the sorrow of her loss. She will be remembered always. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister Robbie. Paula is survived by her husband of 56 years Robert Collins; two daughters Michelle Collins Reep (John), and Monica Collins; two grandsons Brandon Boswell (Heather), and Andrew Boswell (Hillary); four great grandchildren; two sisters Brenda VanHoy Wilkens (Richard), and Pat McSwain (Ralph); four nephews David, Brad, Johnny, and Greg; great nieces and nephews; special family friends Lisa Morgan, and daughter Kensley; and not to mention her precious baby boy Buddy. There will not be a service at this time. A celebration of life will be held next spring or summer. Please instead of sending flowers a donation to Trellis hospice of Winston-Salem would greatly be appreciated.
