Robert "Lewis" Hutchins, 67, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 peacefully in his sleep. He was born October 10, 1951 to Buford Neal Hutchins and Alta Vida Swaim. Lewis was a good friend to many and often said he "would do anything for you if he was physically able." His sense of humor was contagious and he was not afraid to share his opinion with others. Lewis loved with all his heart. His daughters and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He often boasted about their accomplishments big or small. He was a proud Papa. He had lots of friends including one very special friend, Kip Clodfelter, who he loved like a brother. Kip was always available and much appreciated. Lewis enjoyed heading up and coordinating the Parkland High School annual "Roundup" and keeping in touch with other alumni. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Kristy (Dwayne) Spence and Carrie (Derek) Stephenson, both of Holly Springs; four grandchildren, Katie, Kyle and Ryan Stephenson and Wesley Spence; two brothers, Larry (Karen) Hutchins and Buford (Shirley) Hutchins; nieces - Shana Stewart and Kelly McKee; and nephews, Scott Hutchins, Donald Hutchins and Jonathan Chandler Hutchins. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Reynolda Church, EPC in Winston-Salem with Pastor Danny Jarmon of Macedonia Baptist Church of Holly Springs officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
