Thelma Sapp Horton, 89, of Winston-Salem, NC was called home by her Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 surrounded by her family at The Oaks. Born on August 8, 1927 to Gracie Livengood and Harvey Edward Sapp, Sr. She retired from Western Electric and was a member of the CWA Retirees Club, and was on the club's Board of Directors.. She was a longtime fan of the Atlanta Braves and loved baking cakes. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harvey Edward Sapp, Jr., Fred Sapp, R. G. Sapp, Sr., Dennis R. Sapp, Sr. ; and sister Esther Beshears. She is survived by two children, Ronnie Ervin (Hattie Ann) and Wanda Ervin; grandchildren Amy Henggeler Skeens (Chad), Tiffany Henggeler, Dewayne Ervin (Molly), Kimberly Bowles (Brian), and Joshua Ervin; great- grandchildren, Angela Skeens, Hunter Skeens, Bradley Skeens, Jake Floyd, Bianca Bowels, Rhylee Ervin; sister Betty Sapp Mikles; brother Harry L. Sapp (Patricia); and special friends Thomasina Norman, and Norma Royal. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday May 16, 2017, at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, 3543 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 with Dr. Mark J. Key officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Tabor United Methodist Church Grave Yard Fund.
