Our precious child, Zachary Fillmore Loftin, peacefully left this world on July 6, 2019 and walked into the arms of his Lord and his cherished sister, Adrienne. Zach, 37, of Kernersville, NC, was born on October 13, 1981 in Winston-Salem, NC to Warren and Cindy Loftin. It was easy for Zach to make friends because of his love for others, his delightful sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh. Well respected by his employer, his coworkers saw him as a dedicated team member who would go the extra mile to help the team whenever the need arose. Zach loved children and had a special affection for his two nieces. An avid Wake Forest sports fan, he always supported the team. He had many hobbies, including reading, learning historical facts, camping, grilling on the barbeque, cars and car racing. He especially enjoyed watching NASCAR. He also loved to vacation at Kure Beach where he and the family made many fond memories. God created Zach minus his right hand while blessing him with a strong will and spirit of determination, which more than compensated for what others might have seen as a deficiency. He found ways to accomplish whatever goals he desired in all aspects of his life. He was an inspiration to others just by showing them what he could do, not what he could not do. Zach was preceded in death by his sister, Adrienne Loftin Overby; his paternal grandparents, Floyd F. and Susie Loftin; and his maternal grandparents, Bobby and Mildred Carroll. He is survived by his parents, Warren and Cindy Loftin; brother, Nate Loftin; fiancé, Robin Meier; brother-in-law, Cal Overby; two nieces, Abby and Laney Overby; special aunt, Phyllis Loftin; special cousin, Nick Crews; his beloved dog, Sally and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held 2pm Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Center Grove Baptist Church, 8750 Lasater Road, Clemmons, NC 27012 with Pastor Joseph Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
